FRESH LIVE YEAST - 100ml Pouch
Fresh Yeast Shipping
Froth Technologies fresh yeast is a live, temperature-sensitive product and needs to be kept chilled to maintain its quality and viability.
To ensure your yeast reaches you in the best possible condition, fresh yeast orders are dispatched on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, packed chilled. This minimises time in transit and helps prevent yeast from being held in courier depots over the weekend.
Please note: If you purchase other items in the same order as fresh yeast, your entire order will be held and dispatched together on the next fresh yeast shipping day.
If you need your other items dispatched sooner, please place them as a separate order, with the fresh yeast placed on its own order with separate shipping.
Froth Technologies was founded to bring yeast production to Aotearoa, giving Kiwi brewers access to fresh, local liquid yeast without the long delays and hold-ups of importing. Simon Cooke and Ryan Carville started out in a shared commercial kitchen, pitching our first strains into tiny tanks for one-off brews.
These days, they're running New Zealand’s first dedicated yeast lab, supplying craft breweries, homebrewers, distillers and cider makers across NZ and afar.
SPECTRA | FT03 (Hazy / English Ale)
Explore the more delicate of textures and indulge in a spectrum of radiant flavour & aroma. Spectra boasts a more robust attenuation capacity than many of its counterparts, while exhibiting an elegant ester profile and velvety mouthfeel. This prolific strain dances with hops & protein to offer a mesmerising glow in New England IPA’s, while its Old English origins make it a wise choice for amber & dark ales.
Attenuation: 72-85% | Flocculation: Low-Med | Alcohol Tolerance: 10% | Temp: 17-21°C
Assumed Origin: Unknown (London)
Dosage:
One pouch of Froth Tech yeast contains 200 Billion cells. This is enough to inoculate 23L of wort up to 1.048 SG, or 20L of wort up to 1.060 SG. For Lagers or high gravity ales (over and above 1.060), use two pouches or make a starter.
How should I store my yeast?
Your yeast pouch should be stored cold in your fridge at 1-4°C. Typical household fridges are set to 4°C.
How do I pitch my yeast into wort?
-
Refrigerate your pouch until ready to use.
-
Massage pouch contents to mix into a consistent slurry.
-
Sanitise the outside of the pouch.
-
Tear or cut open pouch and pitch your yeast into well aerated wort at the desired temp.
